Reliance Jio, the latest sensation in the Indian telecommunications industry has attracted 16 million subscribers in just 26 days of its launch, Reliance Jio Infocomm announced on Sunday.
The numbers are the world record as it’s higher than any other telecom or start-up in the first month of operations around the globe, the company stated. The commercial operations were launched on 5th September and since then it has received tremendous response from smartphone users.

“Jio will bring transformational changes in the Indian digital services space to enable the vision of Digital India for 1.2 billion Indians,” the company added.
The company has also introduced Aadhaar-based paper-less Jio SIM activation across 3,100 cities and towns that has made the purchase relatively easier. This enables the customer to complete the SIM activation process in a matter of minutes, with only his/her Aadhaar number.
This process will be extended across the country and fully stabilized for satisfactory onboarding experience in the next few weeks.
